Our Mission
Our mission at College Guidance is to make higher education a real opportunity for at-risk children from low-income families so that they can build the knowledge, skills and character to compete in an ever-changing economic environment while serving as role models in their communities. In order to do this, we leverage our rapidly growing network of well-educated volunteers (most graduates of top universities and grad school across the nation) to provide one-on-one counseling and key resources for high school seniors throughout the college application process, including dedicated weekends during the fall where we set up workshops to meet one-on-one with our mentors at facilities at UCLA and USC.

Our goal is to supplement - not replace - the existing guidance that these high school seniors receive at their schools and through other organizations. Our experience confirms that students are most influenced when they are presented with many reinforcing messages and options, and as a result we are dedicated to partnering with existing guidance efforts. If you believe in our mission (as we strongly do) then we strongly encourage you to consider joining the College Guidance team.

Best,
